The above quote has been the cornerstone of my understanding of student travel, from the very first East Coast trip I led with students in the summer of 2004.  With each excursion, I'm constantly reminded of the wisdom of Twain's words.  The gift of travel is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our kids.  It opens their eyes, exposes them to new ideas and ways of thinking, and makes them more open-minded and willing to experience new things.
